I’m asking for clarification. If I print out my Disneyland Anaheim e-tickets at property, they will be on a sheet of printer paper. But the Quickly Pass machines require entrance ticket cards to work. What’s the deal? Thanks.

Yes, you can use your eTicket, printed at residence to acquire a FastPass, sort of…

The way the eTicket works is you take your house-printed eTicket to the admission turnstiles (You don’t even have to go to the ticket windows). The staff then problems you a standard Disneyland Resort ticket. Your eTicket is actually a pre-paid admission voucher that you exchange for an actual park ticket. You’ll see confirmation of this, in the section titled “Making use of Your Disney’s eTicket”, in the link, to the Disney website below.
